EIGHTEEN teams from across the country are expected to converge in Talisay City on May 1 to 5 at Sta. Maria Football Field for the 3rd Negros Occidental Football Association (Nofa) Under 13 Invitational Cup, an excellent football facility developed for the grassroots program.

Among the teams seeing action are from Luzon are 07 Eagles, Blue Brothers, Malaya FC, One La Salle and Southridge.

Teams from Mindanao are Davao Grassroots Champions League (Davao del Sur), Golden Harvest (Bukidnon/Misamis Oiental), Mt. Apo Regional Football Association (North Cotabato), Notre Dame of Tacurong College (Maguindanao) and Zandifa (Zamboanga del Norte-Dipolog City).

From the Visayas are Don Bosco Cebu FC and Springdale Titans of Cebu, Barotac Nuevo Football Club and LGU Barotac Nuevo from Iloilo, North Road Guesthouse – Bacong FC and Negros Oriental – Siquijor Regional Football Association from Negros Oriental, and 2 teams from host-Nofa.

Each team should have 16 eligible players ready to see action in each scheduled match.

This annual event, co-bankrolled by Dynamic Football League, aims at providing the young players the opportunity to develop their skills and continuously elevate not only the level of football in our country but also the lives of young aspiring players.

The absence of grassroots program in the country will force scarcity of material for the future national team.

Supervising the conduct of the tournament is Rev. Fr. Ember Tiangson as Nofa Cup Chairman. (HGD)
