2 Cinemalaya films’ gala set tonight (1:14 p.m.)

MANILA -- The 6th Cinemalaya film entries “The Leaving” and “Vox Populi” will hold its gala Tuesday night at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

“The Leaving,” directed by Ian Loreños will be screened at 6:15 p.m. and to be followed by Dennis Marasigan's “Vox Populi” at 9 p.m. all at the same venue.

Loreños's film is a three-part movie, which is set in Chinatown in Manila. The stories, though will tackle different issues, will still have common themes on it.

Marasigan's "Vox Populi" meanwhile is a story about the campaign period of a mayoralty candidate who will meet different kinds of people days before the election.

"The Leaving" will star Alwyn Uytingco, LJ Reyes, LJ Moreno, Arnold Reyes and more. Irma Adlawan, Bobby Andrews, Julio Diaz, LJ Moreno, Suzette Ranillo complete the main actors in "Vox Populi." (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
