MANILA—The Alaska Aces will go for the title, while San Miguel Beer tries to live another day in Game 5 of the PBA Fiesta Cup finals.

Alaska leads the series, 3-1.

Since the league started in 1975, only Ginebra managed to erase a 3-1 deficit against Shell in 1991.

“It’s not over yet. We may be down, but this is just a way for us to show our true character. It’s not an ideal situation but I know we are playing for something here,” said coach Siot Tanquingcen, who is aiming for the Beermen’s 19th conference crown.

Alaska not only has the momentum but also the psychological advantage of having freed themselves from all the pressures of the long series.

The pressure is now on the Beermen as they are facing a tough task of sweeping the remaining three matches.

Despite playing without ace slotman Sonny Thoss, the Aces outrebounded the Beermen, 51-49, thanks to Diamon Simpson’s 18 and LA Tenorio’s 10.
