DepEd to conduct early registration

Sunnexdesk

THE Department of Education (DepEd) is set to conduct early registration in public elementary and high schools on Saturday, January 28, in preparation for the opening of academic year 2017-2018.

DepEd Assistant Regional Director Pedro Melchor Natividad said the early registration is to establish the increase of enrollees for the coming school year.

Natividad said the increase of enrollees would guide them in the preparations of the school facility and books as well as human resources.

He said among those who are expected to register are children who will enroll in kindergarten and Grade 7 for Junior High School.

Natividad said the requirement to enroll in kindergarten is birth certificate showing the child is already five years old.

For Junior High School, the requirements are birth certificate, certificate of good moral character, and diploma.

Natividad urged the parents to support the early conduct of school children registration. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
