FOOTBALL continues to gain ground in Sagay City, Negros Occidental as hundreds of football players are expected to gather in the 5th Sinigayan 7 A-Side Football Festival on March 10 and 11 at the Sagay National High School Football Field.

This event is part of the city’s annual celebration in honor of their patron, St. Joseph the Worker.

Among the categories to be competed are boys, girls or mixed 10, boys 13, boys’ 16, girls’ 18, 35 Up Men, and 30 Up Soccer Mom for Day 1 while boys, girls or mixed 11, boys’ 15, boys’ 18, Women’s Open and Men’s Open for Day 2.

Organizers said interested teams are requested to confirm their participation on or before March 2 as only 20 teams will be accepted in each category. Classrooms are also available for participants who want to stay in duration of the event.

The event will be managed by the City Government of Sagay and the City Sports Department in conjunction with the 2018 Sinigayan Festival Organizing Committee.

Catalino Valderrama Sr. will oversee the conduct of the tournament. (HGD)
