REPRESENTATIVE Alfredo Abelardo Benitez of the Third District of Negros Occidental will lead today, Friday the inauguration and turn-over of classrooms built under the Department of Education’s Priority School Program of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile in four public schools in Silay City.

The construction of the school buildings started in 2009. It was undertaken by the Department of Public Works and Highways as one of Senator Enrile’s priority projects.

Funding for the projects was secured through the efforts of then Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation president Albee Benitez who, for the past four years, had been undertaking community-based educational assistance projects in the Third District.

Slated for turn-over are one Modified School Building each in Barangay Guimbalaon National High School and Don Serafin Golez Integrated School in Barangay Guimbalaon, Hincayan Elementary School in Barangay E. Lopez, and Doña Monserat Lopez Memorial High School in the city proper of Silay. (Teresa Ellera-Dulla)
