THE suspect in the murder of three women in an apartment in Dizon subdivision, who surrendered to the police, will be named on Saturday.

City Police Director Agripino Javier, lead investigator of the case, said the suspect is already in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and will be turned over to the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) for the filing of charges.

Javier refused to name the suspect until Saturday, when a joint statement of the BCPO and the NBI will be made and the results of parallel investigations will be presented.

“I am 99 percent sure we have solved the crime,” Javier said.

Javier said the suspect lives within the same compound and its fingerprints matched with those found in the crime scene.

The bloodied cell phones of the victims that have been thrown away but were recovered by a passerby were surrendered to the police.

The bloodied clothes of the victims have also been submitted for laboratory testing.

Javier said the suspect has scratches on his face and arms and his face appeared to have been punched - indications the victims fought back.

Cigarette butts were likewise used as evidence in identifying the suspect.

The real motive for the killing is still being established but Javier theorized that it could have due to drunkenness.
