THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Negros Occidental is urging product designers in the province to attend the regional designers meeting at the Iloilo Convention Center on October 11.

Engiemar Tupas, senior trade and industry development specialist of DTI-Negros Occidental, said the Designer Center of the Philippines will hold a huddle, or an informal meeting with local designers.

Target participants are those in the furniture and furnishing, fashion and gifts, décor and holiday products, and food sector, mainly for labeling and packaging.

Tupas said the seminar includes discussions on the designer development program for the regional designers track, strengths, and training needs.

It is also aimed at pushing for craft revival promotion and formal organization of the design and creative industry in the region, he added.

The activity is free for all participants. They may confirm participation through DTI-Negros Occidental at hotline numbers 433-0250/434-7920 /(0939)9159596.
