THE Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) is set to launch on November 22 Bacolod City’s MassKara stamps.

Four Philippine Festival Masks have been chosen, including those of the Moriones Festival of Marinduque, Higantes Festival of Angono, Rizal, Tacloban City’s Pintados, and Bacolod’s Masskara.

The Masskara stamps designed by Antonio Carranza Jr. will be available at P100 each.

Only about 5,000 copies of the special limited edition stamps were printed by PHLPost.

Recently, the Masskara Festival has been listed 25th among the 29 most colorful festivals and celebrations around the world by the website www.placestoseeinyourlifetime.com.

This November, the PHLPost is celebrating the National Stamp Collecting Month as part of its continuing postal awareness efforts as mandated by Presidential Proclamation Number 494 signed by former President Fidel V. Ramos, an avid stamp collector himself.

This year’s celebration is themed “Selyong Pinoy: Pagpapakita ng Husay at Galing ng mga Pilipino,” depicting exemplary Filipinos whose achievements and contribution in nation-building were depicted through stamps.

Postmaster General Josefina de la Cruz said there is an increasing appreciation of the Filipinos on the innovations introduced in postage stamps to make them both more attractive and significant. (NLG)
