Teen collared for loose firearm

THE elements of the EB Magalona Police arrested an 18-year-old Alfred Nava of Barangay Lantad, Silay City for illegal possession of loose firearm Monday morning in a benefit dance in said town.

Chief Inspector Samuel Mina Jr., EB Magalona PNP chief, said Nava was nabbed by local policemen during a commotion inside the dance hall in Barangay Tanza.

An improvised shotgun or "sulpak" with one round of live ammunition was found in his possession.

The suspect is presently detained at the lock up cell of EB Magalona prior to the filing of charges against him for violation of Presidential Decree 1866, as amended by Republic Act 8294.

On the other hand, a 28-year-old man facing a theft complaint in Talisay City was also nabbed by elements of the Talisay PNP Monday morning.

Police Inspector Pabiolo Ortiz, spokesman of the local police, identified the arrested suspect as Arlou Librado, of Purok Kabulakan, Barangay Zone 10, Talisay City.

Ortiz said the suspect was tagged in theft complaint filed by Rolicia Macariola, 20, cashier of Petron Gasoline Station, who positively identified the suspect as the person who took her mobile phone Monday night.
