Theft inside fire station to be probed

THE police are tracing the identity of the thief who stole devices and cash inside Lahug Fire Sub Station while the fire fighters were away, helping others in putting out the fire that hit Metro Ayala Department Store last Friday night.

Cebu City Police Office Director Joel Doria said he has ordered an investigation.

The culprit took a smartphone worth P35,000; laptop, P35,000; bag, P5,000; cash amounting to P13,800 and a power bank, P2,300 from fire officers Archie Custodio and Elmer Arnold Arriesgado Chu.

The burglary was discovered around 10 a.m. last Saturday.

Investigation showed the culprit forcibly opened the doors of the fire station and stole items from the fire officers’ lockers. (KAL)
