POLITICAL party United Negros Alliance (Unega) headed by Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. is expected to convene its members this month.

Second District Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr., party secretary-general, on Wednesday, August 9, said they will tackle various issues, including the dissolution of Negros Island Region.

They will also discuss plans for the 2019 elections, he said.

On fielding candidates for top provincial positions, the board member said it is possible.

“Actually, it depends, (but) we’re not running of out candidates,” he added.

It is also possible that Unega will field former Fourth District Representative Jeffrey Ferrer for governor, Escalante said.

“There are many potential candidates for Unega,” he added. (MPE)
