Angeles City holds activities for Nutrition Month

ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. administered Monday morning, July 22, de-worming and Vitamin A Supplementation on 168 kids in Barangay Sapalibutad.

Lazatin himself administered the activities as part of the Nutrition Month celebration. He has vowed to improve delivery of health services to Angeleños starting with better services at the Ospital ning Angeles (ONA) and the rural health centers all over the city.

During the activities at the NHA Resettlement in Barangay Sapalibutad, Lazatin was assisted by the Angeles City Nutrition Office, Gender Development Office and the City Health Office-Population Development Council.

From 2013 to 2015, a 48.3 percent prevalence rate of worm infestation was reported among children in Pampanga province, the highest among provinces.

As of January 2019, the City Health Office had administered de-worming and Vitamin A Supplementation to 17,374 children for age group 1-4 years old; 21,341 for 5-12 years old; and 11,127 for ages 13-18 years old.

Other recipients in Angeles City will include the children in Barangays Amsic, Pulung Maragul, Pampang, and Cutud.

De-worming and Vitamin A Supplementation activities are scheduled on July 24, 8 a.m. at the Angeles Heights and TB Pavillon in Barangay Sapalibutad; July 25, 8 a.m. at Bankusay Street in Barangay Amsic; July 26, 8 a.m. at Bagong Sibol and Purok 7 in Barangay Pulung Maragul; July 29, 8 a.m. at Purok 4-B and Purok 5-B in Barangay Pampang; and July 30, 8 a.m. at Northville in Barangay Cutud.
