A TOP official of the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) has asked the public not to spread false news about the eruption of Mount Pinatubo.

ACDRRMO head Rudy Simeon said the volcano had a weak explosion at lunchtime on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, but there is no reason to be worrying too much.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (NDRRMO) reported that Pinatubo had a weak explosion from 12:09 until 12:13 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Simeon.

"Nais po nating ipaabot na huwag po tayong masyadong mabahala na nagkaroon po ng mild explosion sa Bulkang Pinatubo," Simeon said.

He added that ACDRRMO, headed by Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr., is coordinating with Phivolcs regarding the status of Mount Pinatubo.

Simeon assured that the City Government is monitoring the situation of the volcano 24 hours a day starting on Tuesday.

The ACDRRMO chief urged netizens not to post fake news on social media that will create panic among the rest of the people residing in the city.

"Pakiusap lang po sa ating mga netizens sa social media, huwag po tayong mag-create/post ng mga fake news na nakakabahala po sa ating mga kababayan. Maraming salamat po," Simeon said.
