Central Luzon fisheries council sets new officers

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Regional Agriculture and Fishery Council (RAFC) elected its new set of officers for the year 2019-2022 at the Benigno Hall recently, with Engr. Francisco Hernandez (Nueva Ecija) taking the helm of the organization as its new president.

Other officers include Vice Chairman Onesimo Romano (Zambales), Secretary Rogelio Santos (Pampanga), Treasurer Bayani Dela Cruz (Tarlac), Auditor Orlando Corpuz (Tarlac) and PRO Henry Custodio (Bataan.

The elected officers will hold the office for three consecutive years to serve as the forum for consultative and continuing discussions within agriculture and fisheries sector.

OIC-Regional Technical Director for Operations Nelson Bautista encouraged the RAFC to enhance people participation and empower the agri-fishery sector through sectoral representation in agricultural policy-making bodies so that Department of Agriculture programs and projects would be beneficial to the clientele.

Meanwhile, RAFC Executive Officer Dr. Arthur Dayrit discussed the guidelines of the RAFC election which includes in the Memorandum of Operations (MoO).

The MoO contains information on policies, processes and procedures adopted by Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries relative to the organization, structure, membership, roles and functions, activities, outputs and other concerns of the Agricultural and Fishery Council who are composed of volunteer partners at the regional and local level.
