Customs Clark employees undergo illegal drug test

SOME 20 personnel of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark underwent a drug testing recently.

BOC Port of Clark conducted the random drug test among its employees in cooperation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Central Luzon.

The 20 BOC employees from the bureau's Enforcement and Security Service (ESS), Customs Intelligence and Investigation Services (CIIS), Security Guards Office, and other units were randomly picked to undergo drug testing.

All of the employees tested negative of the illegal substance, according to the BOC Clark.

The drug test is in compliance with the directive of the BOC commissioner, Rey Leonardo Guerrero, to protect Customs employees from the harmful effects of illegal drugs.

District Collector Alexandra Lumontad said the Port of Clark will strictly adhere to the directives of the Customs Commissioner in promoting a safe and drug-free work environment.

She also stressed the responsibility of public servants to maintain a drug free lifestyle.
