BALANGA CITY, Bataan -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bataan received a total of 71 consumer complaints during the first half of 2018, most of which on defective gadgets and appliances.

"We received 17 consumer complaints on defective gadgets and 16 on appliances," DTI Provincial Consumer Protection Division Chief Connie Sanico said.

Other complaints included vehicle parts and unsatisfactory services from business establishments.

Sanico assured that all of these complaints were resolved and handled with confidentially.

"When we address the complaint, we mediate by getting the side of the complainant and the business owner or manager being complained. We make sure that both of them reach an agreement when they leave our office," she added.

DTI Bataan is urging the public to exercise their right on consumer protection by reaching through their office for complaints on defective products or deception from business establishments.

For complaints, consumers may file through Bataan@dti.gov.ph or direct line 237-3005. (PR)
