MABALACAT City Mayor Cris Garbo on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, asked his constituents especially the senior citizens to avail of the Covid-19 booster shots being offered by the City Government.

The mayor made his appeal during his meeting on Tuesday with Dr. Jay Rivera, the city's Covid-19 response chief, and leaders of barangays Dau and Camachiles.

Garbo ordered for the preparation of first and second booster shots for adult and senior citizens in said villages.

The local chief executive said the boosters vaccines will give the people extra protection against the virus since several variants had entered the country based on the latest report of the Department of Health (DOH).

The City Government reported zero new cases of Covid-19 and zero recoveries, as of May 23, 2022.

There is only one active case as of Monday, according to the Mabalacat City Covid-19 Updates posted on Facebook social media.

A total of 8,825 cases had been reported in the city since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

Some 8,585 among these had recovered from the virus, it was learned.
