LUBAO The local government here recently sent 44 seasonal farmers to South Korea.

The first batch of seasonal workers were hired through the partnership of the LGU with the South Korean government.

Earlier, Mayor Esmeralda G. Pineda signed agreements with various city governments in South Korea for the employment of seasonal farm workers.

Pineda hosted a send-off activity for the workers infront of the municipal hall before they boarded a provincial government-owned bus enroute to the airport.

The bus was sent by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda as his way of showing support to the LGU’s program.

The first batch were part of the 139 workers set to fly to South Korea for a seasonal job.

A day before their flight, Pineda asked the workers to follow South Korean immigration and labor laws so they can secure permanent jobs in the Korean peninsula.

The workers were deployed to the city of Goryeong-gun where Mayor Lee Nam-Cheol personally welcomed them.
