THE number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Mabalacat City continued to drop, with single digits recorded over the past few days until Valentine's Day.

On February 14, the City Government recorded one new case of Covid-19.

A day before the celebration of the heart's day, the city's Covid-19 task force reported two new cases.

There were four new cases recorded on February 12, seven on February 11, five on February 10 and eight on February 9.

The total active cases in the city have also decreased to 17 as of February 14.

Mayor Crisostomo Garbo attributed the decline in the number of cases to the massive vaccination program and information drive of the local government.

The mayor reminded his constituents that the pandemic is not yet over, thus they should continue to observe health protocols to prevent infection.

Garbo said the City Government is all set to inoculate children aged five to 11.

The local chief executive urged his unvaccinated Kabalens to get vaccinated to get extra protection against the virus.

Pampanga and other parts of Central Luzon have been placed under Alert Level 2 from February 16 to 28.
