THE local government in Candaba town, Pampanga has lifted the implementation of the "No Movement Sunday" measure in this town.

Mayor Rene Maglanque announced that starting Sunday, May 16, business establishments as well as the town's public market are allowed to operate again during Sundays.

The mayor, however, reminded owners that regular disinfection inside their establishments must continuously be conducted and all health protocols should still be observed.

The "No Movement Sunday" was implemented through Executive Order No. 11 effective May 1 to 15, aimed to minimize the movement of people to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

This was implemented following the continuous spike in Covid-19 cases that reached over 200 active cases in a day.

However, the Municipal Health Office reported that the number of active Covid-19 cases in town dropped to 66, as of May 16.
