2-day police operations yield 36 arrests

AT LEAST 36 personalities were arrested in Northern Samar towns during the two-day anti-criminality operations conducted on October 26-27, 2021.

“I am very pleased with the successful series of operations being carried out by my personnel on the ground,” said Colonel Arnel Apud, police provincial director.

Of the 36 individuals, 17 were wanted persons, while 19 were law offenders.

The wanted persons were apprehended in Bobon, Pambujan, Lapinig, San Isidro, Lope de Vega, Mondragon, Laoang, San Roque, Las Navas and Catubig.

They were facing crimes for murder, rape, violations of the Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines, illegal gambling, Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, slight physical injuries and maltreatment, and frustrated murder.

Meanwhile, a total of 19 individuals were rounded up for illegal gambling, illegal logging, illegal fishing, loose firearms, and infraction of the provincial ordinances.

In Capul town, a drug personality also voluntarily surrendered.

All arrested persons were brought to the respective arresting units for proper disposition before their turnover to the courts of origin. (SunStar Philippines)
