Eastern Visayas sees another spike in Covid-19 cases

EASTERN Visayas reported 124 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases on Tuesday, October 27, marking another single-day increase in coronavirus infections in the region.

The region also recorded two new Covid-related deaths. The fatalities were identified as a 67-year-old female from Laoang, Northern Samar who died on October 24, and a one-month-old baby from Catarman, Northern Samar who died on October 22.

As of Tuesday, Eastern Visayas has a total 6,481 Covid-19 cases, 5,482 (84.59 percent) recoveries, 60 (0.93 percent) deaths, and one non-Covid-

related death.

This brought the total active cases to 938 (14.47 percent), according to the Department of Health.

The 124 new cases were recorded out of 1,037 laboratory samples tested in two Covid-19 laboratories based in Tacloban City.

The additional cases are from Tacloban (4), Albuera (1), Hilongos (1), Inopacan (2), Javier (2), Palo (4), Tanauan (1), Calbayog City (18), Gandara (4), Paranas (13), Borongan City (4), Allen (19), Bobon (4), Catarman (17), Laoang (1), Lapinig (1), Las Navas (5), Lavezares (1), Lope de Vega (4), Mondragon (11), San Jose (2) and San Roque (5).
