2 financing firm execs killed in gun attack

TWO personnel, including an official, of a financing firm were killed in a gun attack in Zamboanga Sibugay province, the police said Friday, May 10.

Emmanuel Licup, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, said the incident occurred at 3:25 p.m. Thursday at Purok Santan in Dawa-Dawa village, Alicia town.

Brigadier General Licup identified the fatalities as Philip Jhon Pontijon, 29 and Nur Akram Sajili, 24.

Licup said Pontijon, assistant manager, and Sajili, collector, of the ASA Foundation Micro Financing in Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Investigation showed the victims were shot and killed by two unidentified gunmen who tailed them while they were collecting payments at Sitio Tarla in Tampalan village, Alicia.
