6 Zamboanga policemen receive merit medal

THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula awarded on Monday, November 12, the "Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Merit Medal)" to six policemen, including two officers, for their laudable operational accomplishment.

Awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan were Superintendent Edilberto Alvarez, Police Officer (PO) 2 Alfredo Gangoso and PO3 Had-Marwan Edding, all from the Police Station 11 of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO).

Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis Licup, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director, said they were recognized for the arrest of drug suspects, namely, Nidzma Sapinding Juani and Alyaser Halahim Juani, in a drug bust on September 3 in the village of Tetuan, Zamboanga City.

Licup said the other awardees were Chief Inspector Roldan Molate, Senior Police Officer (SPO) 1 Paul Antonie Deiparine and SPO1 Vincent Jasma, all from the municipal police station of Labason, Zamboanga del Norte.

He said they were recognized for the arrest of Madjuni Esmael Tarang, Labason's Top 3 Most Wanted Person, in a law enforcement operation on October 3 in Sitio Bucana, Barangay Osukan, Labason.

Licup said the awardees brought honor and prestige worthy of praise and emulation by their peers and the Philippine National Police.

The awarding was held after the traditional Monday flag raising ceremony in Camp Colonel Romeo Abendan, which houses the PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula headquarters in the village of Mercedes. (SunStar Philippines)
