THE 1st Infantry "Tabak" Division (ID), the premier command of the Philippine Army, has received eight new officers to complement the command's list of officers.

Brigadier General Jose Randolf Sino Cruz, 1ID assistant division commander, welcomed them and led the pinning of the "Tabak" patches in a simple recognition rites Monday, January 24, after the flag raising ceremony.

Captain Mary Jephte Mañebog, 1ID information officer, said the newly assigned officers were led by Lieutenant Colonel Jose Andre Monje, a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Masikhay" Class of 1999.

Monje was previously assigned with the 8th Infantry Division based in Eastern Visayas and the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Mañebog said Captain Bethoven Cabanlit and Captain Emmuel John Perez, prior to their assignment to 1ID, was with the 7ID and 9ID, respectively.

She said that the other five are female junior officers who belong to the Officer Preparatory Course “Adhikalinaw” Class 72-2020. They graduated on September 16, 2021 at Camp O'Donnell in Capas, Tarlac.

Sino Cruz motivated the newly assigned officers to work hard, be sincere, and stay committed to their sworn duty. (SunStar Zamboanga)
