THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is implementing a seven-kilometer farm-to-market-road concreting project in the second-class town of Tungawan in Zamboanga Sibugay.

The project, with an estimated cost of P113 million, is being undertaken under the Conditional

Matching Grant to the Provinces program.

Zamboanga Sibugay Governor Wilter Yap Palma said the project traverses the villages of Datu Tumanggong, Loboc and Malongon, major sources of vegetables in the province.

Tungawan Mayor Carlan Climaco said the three villages are home to 4,725 farmers, majority

of whom belong to the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) tribes of Subanen and Kalibugan.

Palma said the FMR concreting is the fourth project being implemented in Zamboanga Sibugay under the Build, Build, Build Program of President Rodrigo Duterte.
