Fire hits Zambo Norte town market

A FIRE incident has razed a residential house and damaged the public market of Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Friday, August 10.

The Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office reported the fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, at the temporary site of the municipal public market in Uno village, Katipunan town.

The police said the fire started at the resident of Amilita Sapalieda when one of her family members left the kitchen unattended after they cooked for their meals.

The police said the fire engulfed the house of Sapalieda and also razed three dry goods stalls at the town’s public market.

No one was either reported killed or wounded during the incident that was declared fire out at 5:17 p.m. by the responding firemen.
